ABOUT US

We’re a coalition of advocates organizing and mobilizing from DC and beyond to fight for the rights of DC residents, and the promise of democracy for everyone.

Our Mission

Together for DC exists to build a people-powered solidarity movement led by DC residents and neighbors across the U.S. to defend DC’s dignity and autonomy, and secure full rights for the 700,000 people who make up DC’s vibrant communities.

Our Values Statement

We lead the charge in educating and mobilizing neighbors across the U.S. to recognize DC as one of the frontlines of the escalating attacks on U.S. democracy. With that shared understanding, we work to mobilize everyday people to use their voice and political power to fight for DC’s self-determination, freedom, and representation – and thus to also preserve democracy in the country.

Grounded in shared struggle,
solidarity, and love

Together for DC will build national clarity that when democracy is undermined in the nation’s capital, it is undermined everywhere, and our neighbors nationwide have a stake and role in defending it.

Led by and for the DC community

The Together for DC movement is accountable first and foremost to DC residents – especially DC’s Black, immigrant, and working-class communities most impacted by federal overreach – and to the fight for DC statehood through mutual commitment, collective care, and solidarity in action.
